She finally died and I no longer needed to pretend to be preserving the dusty crystals and decorative ornaments in the china cabinet. I had waited for that day for years. After her death everyone was sent to a different corner. Some were sold, some were stuffed in a cabinet, some were broken and some were abandoned like me.
